Level Designer(s):

Belmin Kozlic:

My name is Belmin Kozliæ and i live in small country named Bosnia and Herzegovina. Something that is really interesting is that in my country there are probably only few guys that are working in UDK or some other engines for creating games. My first little engine to work in was Game Maker and I created few little games, but nothing special. After few months in it I decided that is time to move to more advanced engine and I took FPSC (First Person Shooter Creator). In this engine, FPSC, I learned a lot of stuff, especially about level design because it’s the drag & drop engine. I worked in for almost two years and created few games that were actually good for public. Something that I want to mention is that I worked alone and learned alone FPSC for two years. After an era in FPSC, I decided that came the time for the even better engine. That decision was made because in FPSC you couldn’t make any games that will be interested to wide audiences. I was interested in Cry Engine and UDK. After few weeks of looking for materials, I decided that UDK is better for me because it has a bigger base of good tutorials. And here we are now, developing in UDK. In one month from now and don’t think that I don’t have enough experience because I was on little holiday through this month and every day for at least 7 hours learned UDK. I readed a lot of books, watched tons of video tutorials, visit whole bunch of internet sites and learned a lot of new stuff.

After a month I met Mark who presented to me 3rd Element Studios, after few days I actually had meeting with Rob and in few next days i signed NDA contract.
I’m so excited and happy to work with all of you guys and I really believe that we can together do the great stuff.

Andrew Meade:

Hi, my name is Andrew Meade, and I design games! But I didn’t always design games. I used to do other things too.

I grew up with my mom traveling the country doing Renaissance Faires. Over about two decades, I did pretty much everything there was to do. From jousting, to teaching stage combat to local cast members, and everything in between.

After I met my lovely wife, and continued traveling, we had a little baby boy named Ronnie. We decided we were going to settle down, and give our boy the life we dreamed for him.

I always loved video games, but I never thought about making them. I’ve always been creative, and I wanted a degree in something, but there wasn’t much that I didn’t already know how to do from growing up with artists.

And then I thought about designing games. It’s such an amazing medium, and I had absolutely no clue how to even begin making one. So here we are. I’m learning, and I’m making games.

And that’s me.

John Waynick: - 3D Environment Artist

My name is John Waynick and I’m a 3D environment artist from the US who attended the University of Advancing Technology for Game Art and Design before continuing my education through the Gnomon School of Visual Effects. I’ve been interested in game development for many years and have played with every game engine I could get my hands on, from Torque to Unity. With a technical background in programming, it was always easy to jump on board with a new technology and my first steps with the Unreal Development Kit changed my life forever.

I use a combination of Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop (my tank, DPS, and healer, respectively) to craft my art assets, but the most rewarding part of the process is seeing them put into action inside of the Unreal Engine. I totally geek out over someone running their avatar’s muddy feet walking all over a floor I built.

I’ve always been a huge sci-fi buff and I had seen the trailer for Descension previously. It seemed to be fate that a few days after seeing it I connected with Mark on LinkedIn and was offered the opportunity to be a part of the project. The rest, as they say, is history.
